Electric Universe / Jupiter 8000
Germany

The Electric Universe project was started when Micky Dressler and Boris Blen first worked out some tunes in 1991.
So, the Solar Energy maxi was created to be the second release of the Spirit Zone Record label founded by the famous goahead DJ Antaro in Hamburg. Everybody have been happily surprised about the big success of this single… The "One Love" album and the Online Information maxi followed. Online Information became a big hit especially in the eastern part of Europe because of its "Eastern style" harmonics. Meanwhile Micky decided to study Multimedia subjects in Berlin. The Electric Universe story continued with the "Stardiver" album in 1997.
After producing a lot of typical psychedelic stuff, their style went into a more "Techno influenced direction". The first result was the "Waves" album in 1998. After this one the "Blue Planet" album was released in spring 1999. "Blue Planet" is a mixture of all the different styles Boris Blen went through in all the years. It contains also the Guitar track "Meteor" he produced together with the guitarist Roland "Chico" Wedig. Since this production, Roland is playing with Boris live, too. Also, Boris always enjoyed working with DJ Sangeet, with whom he produced the Endora EP - Joy on Matsuri, some Electric Universe stuff for the Star Diver album 1997 and "The Quest" which is on Sangeet's first solo album "Earth - Liquid" which is released end 1999 on Free Form Records.
Other projects: beside Electric Universe, there always have been a few other projects Boris have been working on. The first was "Paradise Connection", with one album and two singles on High Society Records. Then, there have been two singles on Polytox Rec. for "The Rainbow Spirit" project.
The project "Jupiter 8000" was founded in the summer 1999 with the first album on Nova Tekk "Liquid Audio".
In 1996, Boris Blen was getting more and more into ambient music, too. The first result was "The Galaxy-Angel" album, a collection of floating electro beats to chill out. It has been released on the Blue Room label in Londonin 1998. The second Galaxy album is "Solar Synthesis", finished in summer 1999. The release date was early 2000.
